Florida health studio contracts belong in the gym folder
Florida health studios register with FDACS, but that registration does not mean the agency reviewed your particular membership contract.
A gym membership can start with a tour, a sales special, and a good feeling after one workout.
Before the contract disappears into email, slow down for the Florida piece. Health studios register with FDACS each year, and some studios that collect money in advance must also post financial security. The contract must contain required consumer-protection clauses.
Registration is not the same as contract review. FDACS says it does not review a contract’s content while processing the studio’s registration, so read the cancellation, renewal, transfer, freeze, and closing terms yourself. A month-to-month plan and a paid-in-advance plan are not the same commitment.
Keep the signed contract, receipts, emails, and cancellation proof in one folder. If the gym has a new owner, new billing company, or surprise charge later, those papers tell the story better than memory does. The workout may be simple. The contract should be simple to find too.
