I-4 Express is not the same as the free lanes
I-4 Express through Orlando is a tolled managed-lane choice with limited entry and exit points, so drivers should plan it before merging.
I-4 Express is a 21-mile toll road inside I-4 through Orange and Seminole counties. It does not serve every exit used by the free lanes. The choice works best when its few entry and exit points match the trip.
There are no cash booths in the express lanes. You need an active SunPass or another accepted pass, mounted the right way before you enter. Only two-axle vehicles may use the lanes, so trailers and large trucks must stay in the main lanes.
Check the official trip map before moving left, especially on a drive to the airport or theme parks. If your exit is not served, stay in the main lanes or plan where you will leave Express. Once inside, keep going to the next legal exit if you miss the one you wanted. Never stop or back up. I-4 Express can make a long trip through Central Florida easier, but the map should make the lane choice before traffic does.
