Jacksonville covers a lot of ground. A place that looks close on a map can still take more than one transit step.
Start with the JTA service that fits the trip. Fixed-route buses serve regular routes and stops. The Skyway serves stations in downtown Jacksonville. They solve different parts of a trip, so the service name is more useful than a broad instruction to take transit.
Open the current JTA page before leaving. Match the route and stop to the exact destination. Check the day, departure time, transfer, fare, service alert, and walk from the last stop. A downtown trip may fit the Skyway. A trip beyond its stations needs a bus or another connection.
Check the return trip at the same time. Evening and weekend service may not match the trip out, and a missed transfer can change the plan. Keep the stop name and route number where they are easy to find. That small check makes it easier to compare transit with driving, parking, or a ride from someone else.
