Space Florida turns launch country into a business story
Florida's space economy is not only launch viewing. Space Florida ties facilities, finance, workforce, and commercial space work into the state business map.
Florida’s space story is bigger than a launch time on a phone.
Space Florida helps shape the business side of aerospace work in the state. Under state law, it is a public corporation with a special statewide purpose. It is not a state agency. The group works with sites, money tools, spaceport projects, and programs that help space companies grow in Florida.
The Space Coast is still the most visible part of the story. In Brevard County, a launch can change traffic for the day, and many families know someone tied to space work. Even the road signs point toward Kennedy Space Center. Still, the business side reaches beyond one launch view.
Space Florida’s sites show how practical this can get. It manages the Launch and Landing Facility under an agreement with NASA and opens it to business customers. Other projects connect research, manufacturing, storage, training, and support work to the larger Florida space map.
