Tamarac permit history and lien searches are different checks
Tamarac's public permit portal shows property permit history. The city's separate lien-search request adds open permits, city balances, and other local cases for a broader property check.
Tamarac has two property searches that can sound alike, but they answer different questions.
Use the public permit portal when you want to see work recorded for an address. You can search by application number, street address, parcel number, or name. For a home or business, starting with the exact address or parcel helps keep the result tied to the right property.
When a record opens, compare its job description with the work you can see, such as a roof, pool, windows, air conditioner, or addition. Then read the status and inspection history. A permit number by itself does not show that the job passed its last required inspection.
The lien search is broader and fits a sale or closing. Along with open building permits, it checks city utility and garbage balances, local cases, housing liens, and other money due to Tamarac. This is a paid request, so use the city page for the current fee and wait time.
If work you expected is missing, contact the Building Department or use the city’s public-records link. An empty online result does not prove that no permit exists. Also confirm that the address is inside the City of Tamarac, since a nearby Broward County property may use another office.
