Sunrise permit and lien checks are separate city files

Sunrise keeps building records and municipal lien inquiries in different offices. A home check often needs both.

A house can have a permit story and a city-balance story at the same time.

Sunrise keeps those records in separate lanes. Building Records handles the city’s permit and construction file. The City Clerk’s lien inquiry covers city items such as public-service liens, code-enforcement liens, and special assessments. One result does not replace the other.

Before a purchase, refinance, or major project, start with the exact address and folio number. Check the permit history and look for the inspection or closeout that matches the work you can see. Then use the current City Clerk instructions for the municipal lien inquiry. Fees, forms, and response times can change.

The city form also points people to Broward County public records for other liens or assessments. It says the city inquiry should not be treated as a complete search. Use it as one municipal record check, not as a title clearance or proof that every property issue is settled.

Save both dated results with the house or closing file. If something is open, send it back to the office that owns that record before money or construction moves.
